昔はゴツゴツした岩の川で、大きなタモを川に入れたら、大きなフナとカメが一度にとれたそうです。食卓にも、手ながエビ、モロコ、シラウオ、毛ガニなど、今は食べられない魚たちがたくさん食べられたそうです。
